This refreshing drink will help you get through the summer better

In addition to being delicious and refreshing, this drink nourishes the nervous system. It Balances Vata and Pitta but can increase Kapha. This drink provides a healthier version of the well-known Horchata.

Ingredients

1 cup basmati rice

6 cups of water one can of organic coconut milk

one teaspoon vanilla

1/8 tsp cardamom two cinnamon sticks

Ten soaked almonds

2-star anise (optional)

Jaggery to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice.

  2. Soak the rice, jaggery, star anise, and cinnamon in the 6 cups of water overnight.

  3. Soak the almonds for at least 3 hours.

  4. Put the rice, the water (with the jaggery), the star anise, and the cinnamon in the blender.

  5. After blending it, strain it.

  6. Put the liquid in the blender once more and add almonds (without skin), cardamom, coconut milk, and vanilla.

  7. Stir well and serve at room temperature with a pinch of cinnamon powder.
